Description
The Tabernacle stands at the center of Israel’s wilderness camp, enclosed by linen curtains and surrounded by the tents of the tribes. Smoke rises from the bronze altar of burnt offering as robed priests serve before the sacred tent, whose entrance is marked by rich woven colors. The ordered camp, the guarded courtyard, and the sacrificial fire point to the covenant worship given through Moses after the exodus from Egypt.
This scene reflects the Lord’s command, “Let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.” The Tabernacle was the movable dwelling place of God’s presence among His people, teaching Israel that approach to a holy God required consecration, priestly mediation, and atoning sacrifice. It is a strong visual resource for teaching Exodus, Leviticus, worship, holiness, and the biblical foundations of sacrifice and divine presence.
